Babies and toddlers need Omega-3 Fatty Acids like DHA. Tuna is a great source to help with growth and development.


1 tin of tuna drained

100g self-raising flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 egg

½ tsp black pepper

50g grated cheese

80ml whole milk

1 tsp pesto

50g melted butter

4 cherry tomatoes


Mix your flour, baking powder, egg, milk and black pepper into a bowl.

Stir in your pesto and butter.

Drain your tuna, add this and the cheese and mix well until evenly combined.

Spoon tbsp amounts into muffin cases.

Slice your tomatoes in half and push gently into the top of the mixture.

Bake at 160 degrees for 15 minutes. Always check they’re cooked by inserting a knife or skewer.

Note – Makes 8 muffins.

Suitable from 6 months, ensure your child has tried the allergen foods separately first, such as egg, milk and fish.
